Wine Gone Wild – When A Program Won’t Respond
Sometimes when trying to load an EXE file in Linux using Wine, there is absolutely no response from the program. You can double click the icon or right click and tell the computer to open the program with Wine and it just sits there. Sometimes it takes a program a little while to finally open up but other times there is a program that you can’t see.
While it’s not the easiest method, you do need to use your terminal to try to troubleshoot the program or file that is not responding. Open the terminal and go to that file folder and run the program with “wine program_name.exe”. What will happen is that an error messages will show up telling you literally why the program will not work. handiweb.
